As you move forward with change, some questions are answered and new ones revealed. Your willingness to flex with the twists, turns and uncertainties will impact your outcome. Being comfortable with the process helps you make the most of these insights. Today, I’ll share one outcome of facing my fear…. You Should Write a Blog
If you’ve been an entrepreneur for any length of time, how often have you heard that? As part of your marketing strategy, it helps attract an audience, establish authority, make new connections and more. But I didn’t want to start one. To me sharing my own thoughts seemed like writing a glorified journal. Yet, it’s not what I think while reading other blogs. Many are insightful, well-written and informative. So why did I—a writer—resist, while others took full advantage, even though writing was not their main business? ‘What If’ Only Serves to Hold You Back Only after my coach asked point blank why I didn’t write a blog, did I realize what held me back. Remember those pesky hidden biases I talked about last week? The influences holding you back from making informed decisions? Yup, I was in deep… What if no one liked my blog or worse, no one read it? What if I wanted to change topics? What if I ran out of things to say ? Pointlessness questions really. And notice, all self-focused questions. You can’t control what others think. You don’t know what can, or will happen. And if you change your mind? So what? A Change of Focus So I stopped worrying about what people thought and instead focused on the value I could give. Ways I could inspire you to move forward in your journey. Encourage you to take action to get the life you want. After only two posts, the realization hit me—I wasn’t writing because it’s a good marketing tool. Suddenly there was a purpose I didn’t have before. An urge to uncover problems and find solutions that work. Every time someone tells a story, I wonder if there’s a lesson to share with you. Action, Not Thinking About Action, Brings Results But more than that, it gave me clarity on my writing. And while Success Means Change, gives lots of latitude, there’s so much to being a successful entrepreneur. Not only do you have to focus on building your business and personal life, but also on your mindset, relationships, processes and more. So I’ve decided to widen my focus and share insights to help your whole journey. Insights Revealed as You Move Forward The lesson here then, is to choose action and trust in your ability to deal with what comes next. It’s like driving through a fog. You can only see a short distance ahead, but the twists and turns are revealed as you move forward. You don’t have to rush. You don’t have to worry about what’s far ahead. Just deal with what’s in front of you and keep going to reach your goal. Ask Yourself Why You Say No to Get the Life You Want The next time you say no… stop and ask yourself why? Dig deep. Uncover the reason. Then face it head on. To get the life you want takes action. And the clarity you get as you move forward, gives you confidence to keep going. Share a story about the insights revealed as you moved through change. Comments are closed.
